Obama Makes A Move Towards The Presidency

Today Sen. Barack Obama announced plans to form an exploratory committee for a presidential candidacy. That's a step saying he seriously believes he has the chops to become President of the United States. I'm not yet convinced, based on his sparse track record. But I had a spirited debate with a friend yesterday who said that the very freshness that Obama brings to the political table makes him formidable. Obama himself says the U.S. is hungering for "a different kind of politics."

Here's how you can see what Obama said today on his own website: http://www.barackobama.com

Obama brings a clarity and freshness to the cluttered, self-serving political landscape. Instead of handicapping Obama with the perverbial "not enough experience" brush, which, by the way, is code for "too black," people of conscience should stand up and support a man grounded in integrity, family and community. Or is that too akin to having "family values?"

I'm most concerned That Barak's semi-late "exploratory" entry into the democratic presidential race will be diluted by the already crowded field of contenders. Lets face it though, as hot as his current candidacy prospects are - and ignoring his supposed lack of experience - even Barack realizes he will not win the nomination. He is fully aware, however, what an attractive running mate he makes with Hillary Clinton.
